What type of coolant to use.

Hey guys, I just got my 2000 5.3 back together (and running-thanks a bunch guys) and was wondering if Dexcool is the way to go in this motor or something else? I have no experience with it, I've never used it before. We use Dantigold at our shop. It's a universal antifreeze that claims it will mix with any type of other antifreeze ever made like Dexcool and I use it in my older Chevy engines and its a greenish gold color but I hear about corroding the heads and stuff and clogging the cooling systems if Dexcool isn't used in the LS motors. I flushed the block, heater core, and radiator out with distilled water and before I filled it with something and had to drain it to use something different I figure I'd ask your opinions first. What do you guys use or suggest I use in this motor? It's just a stock 5.3 work, tow, plow truck. Thanks.

I personally run a "global" antifreeze in mine. I have nothing against dexcool though. As long as you don't mix the coolant types you'll be fine.

Alright. Thanks, what are the flush/change coolant intervals on LS motors? Same as a regular small block?

I believe it's every two years depending on use. I could be wrong, however.
