What to look out for when buying a LS1

I'm in the market for a 98-00 ls1 and dont have a clue for the things to look out for specific to these cars when shopping.

How about some heads up advice on items particular to these cars?

Drivetrain, electrics, body etc.

On a cold start up, listen for excessive piston slap. Some piston slap is common on all LS1s on a cold start up, but it shouldn't be very loud or last very long unless the thing has been beat hard. While driving, listen for noise out of the rear end in turns and when coasting.
