    What is this?

What is this black burnt residue near the passenger side of the valley? I think it's burnt oil but where did it come from? Intake leak? My PVC garment was cracked and the owner before me used header tape to wrap it an fix/hide it. It came apart when I was doing my intake swap yesterday.

I vacuum out all the loose stuff and used some carb cleaner to wipe down what I could. Not exactly pretty but better then before. I didn't know if I could use carb cleaner to clean what I see in the intake ports. Can I?

I found the thread for the fix and will be doing it Monday. Can't believe none sells this.

Everything looks like normal. If you want to stop it in the future, try a catch can.

Do what this thread tells you and can do it for $6. This thread below needs a sticky if it isn't already done!!

so did I. When I got her Mar 09 I had to move the PCM and some other stuff to get all the leaves that were stuck in the corners. I'm like where are they coming from? It was parked on a open lot. Turned out the 1st owner had always parked it under a tree.
