Light pewter metallic- 2000 Formula Ram Air
Weird new problem with my Firebird
Well, I've got a weird new problem with my Firebird. Everytime I use the remote control to unlock the car or use the control on the door to lock the car, the headlights raise and lower and a God-awful, staccato, electrical whine as loud as a power tool follows. It's REALLY pissing me off!
WTF is up with my car, dudes?!

several posts on this problem in the "general help" section. Do a search for headlight gear and also search for brent franker.

I agree the loud noise is the motor being stripped, but he is saying that when he unlocks the car, the headlight goes up and then down. I have never heard of that, even when my motor was stripped, it did not go up and down when I locked or unlocked the car.

Mine did all kinds of crazy stuff when it went out including the same thing he's having happen. It would do it when I locked and unlocked it with the remote.

That is good to know, if mine started going up randomly I would have probably sent it to the dealership thinking there was a short in the wiring. I never would have thought it would do that just because the motor went out.

~$40 per side to fix and is a pretty easy fix.
