water pump
About how much will I have to pay for a new waterpump? and how hard is it to change out. My car keeps dumping antifreeze, and I'm pretty sure its the waterpump. I took it somewhere they said altogether it would cost around $400. And they said the water pump would be $225. I want to do the work myself to save that money. Is it hard to do?

Good detailed instrucitons above, removal isnt bad and neither is instail just make sure you get both surfaces free of gasket, price of a new belt driven pump is somewhere around 130.00 ish for the delco pump its gonna cost you around 270.00 ish. If you dont wanna go with the chinazone pump then you can allways have a shop order you in the part and you just put it on.
2001 SS, Its not the car its the Driver that matters....

It's not hard to change at all. I've had mine off 2 times during cam swaps. Just 6 bolts. Not sure if you have to remove the radiator/fan shroud or not cause I had those off anyway but still no big deal.

Not too bad of a job, took me about an hour and a half to do. All you have to take off is your airbreather crap, your throttle body, and there is a small pulley down there I took off to make the bolts on the driver's side of pump easier to get to. I paid 175 for a new pump from napa. Don't forget to put the thermostat on the new pump

Thanks alot guys, I'm going to order one tomorrow. Gotta wait till I get paid. I'm having to drive my car still because I have no other transportation. It leaks everytime I stop somewhere but It hasnt overheated. I'm trying to be as careful as I can I sure dont want to be buying a new engine.

I think it's cheaper than that. Also try adding water pump belt on your water pump. It will efficiently drive your water pump.
