Question Water in front electrical connectors.

    Hey Guys,

I have a 99 Trans Am, and for some reason a few of my front light electrical connectors have water in them. The first time I noticed it was when one of my headlight doors wouldn’t come up. I pulled the connector apart and it was filled with water and the leads had rusted away. I had to replace the pins in the connector. I checked the other side and it was fine. I just figured it was an isolated incident. Then, I just had to replace one of my front turn signals/ driving lights and it had the same problem. The car only has 49000 miles and is garaged most of the time. I have got caught out in the rain two times on the freeway, but other than that it never gets wet except when I wash it. Has anyone else had this problem?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Haven't had the problem, but put some dielectric grease on the pins in the connector and call it good.

I packed them with dielectric grease. It just seems wierd that I'm the only one with this problem. I can probably name at least 10 other things that have gone wrong with my car that other people have posted. Thanks for the reply!

I have the same issue with my front turn signals. I was under the impression that this was a common problem because the connector is mounted in teh bottom of the lense housing where moisture collects. Not sure about the headlights though. Mine look fine.
