tsp giant or patric g cam
so hear is the deal I am building a 408 already has a patric g cam in the car and I would have to buy the tsp giant and install it. What I am looking for is what I had. I had a ls1 with a tsp magic stick 3 I am running 1 7/8 lt and cut outs. I like the real lobby sound. I had a 112 lsa on the magic stick 3. My question is which of these cams is going to give me that same sound, and what is going to give me more power. this is going to be a na(for now mabe a 100shot later) street strip car. thanks for the help guys,
specs:243/249 @ .621/.615 111 lsa for the patric g
Specs:248/254, .615"/.622" with my choice of lsa. for the tsp giant.
this is what I am shooting for sound wise.

that is exactly how I want my car to sound with the set up of cam, and heads, to bad I will have to wait a while before I do all of that, I think I am actually gonna take the deal up on a brand new moser 9'' with 3.75's and a lifetime warranty on a drive shaft. Then just do a x pipe with some lt's and some high flow cats and some kind of good muffler to start off with.

lol I am just stating I wouldnt mind a cam that sounded like that, but that will never happen cause I still want decent gas mileage and at the same time the most I want to be run outta it is 400 horsepower. For the simple fact it is a dd for now till I can get a beater, also I know my way around cars but when it comes to cams and heads I am dumb founded. And I already have the specs for the cam I want anyway had a guy on the hideout help me out with that. But I am still trying to figure out what type of heads would best suite the cam I am going to purchase.

You get a cam for the performance not the sound
Here read
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/dynamo...s-part-ii.html
you can make a 220/220 sound bad ass by putting in a 111lsa

well thats a given. didint mean to sound like thats all i was intrested in. So what will produce more top end power? Say from a 40mph roll?

tsp will be best performance wise. its a tried and true set up for 402-408 strokers.

Collectors Edition Yellow- 2002 Pontiac Trans AM WS6
Why are we worried about a 40 roll? Usually the bigger the cam, the higher up the powerband it goes... Also depends on the variation of duration vs intake & exhaust whethers it is a reverse split or on the new LSRs etc...
I think the TSP will be better for what you are looking for.
