Trufiber ss hood and slp lid

Hey guys, so basically after exhaustive searching I cannot find the answer to this. Basically the trufiber ss hood I have is awesome it just wont close on my slp lid. If I take the lid off it closes and fits perfectly. So my question is are there not a million SS owners that have a slp lid and it closes fine with the factory hood? I am pretty sure the factory lid is the same for the SS and Z. How could I be the only one with this problem.

From what I've gathered .... SLP rubs on SS hoods.... but not on Z28 hoods. (98-02)
My old 98 z28 had an SLP lid, no rubbing.
Now I have an 00 SS and debating getting an SLP lid ... since I hear they rub on the SS hoods
