You'll need 4 quarts of Dexron III (I like Redline D4 atf) and 2 quarts of 80/90 gear oil. I use ANY dino 80/90. I also use a lil threadlocker w/teflon around the drain/fill plugs.

And how many do I nerd for the gears?
I remember my dad use to wash the gears and all the inside with gasoline.
And then put the oil in there. Do I have to do that?

What you mean my posi is worn out? Do I have to change the gears? Or what is it,
and is that expensive to fix?

I said 2 quarts of gear oil. If you have to remove the cover off of the diff to drain the old oil, just spray some brake cleaner in there.

I don't use a gasket. Just run a bead of black silicone gasket maker around the edge, let dry before filling with fluid. I use any ole dino 80/90 gear oil with one bottle of GM limited slip additive.

    I think it's 4.
So it's a good idea to use an aditive for the gears right?
They won't get messed up or anything?

You'll want one of those red fluid transfer pumps they sell at autoparts stores and Sears to put the new fluid in. About $9.

I might be too late with this, but if you a buy a product like Lucas, they typically come with the differential slip additive already added in. Having too much limited slip fluid will cause you to slip too much. Read the label to confirm, but I think Lucas does.

    +1.

I luckily had some hose and wasted only a few drops of the Royal, so that probably was a waste of $2 in fluid.
