Trans Am won't start!! I need ideas

So the other day I take my T/A to the store and when I come back out it won't start so I try wait 3min try so on and so forth 20 minutes later it finally starts. So at this point I'm thinking the key has finally worn out and I drive it home and park it. Today I get a new key from the stealership and I go to start the T/A and it won't start at all. So now I'm lost it cranks and cranks, its got fuel in the rail, my spark tester appears to have pulled a houdini so I couldn't test that. But I've never had spark plugs just take a shit tho so that doesn't seem likely. Would the coils just die and wouldn't it start even if just one was working? Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful cuz I'm all out. Thanks

Maybe you need to replace your synchronizer keys

Well, you have fuel, but do you have a pressure gauge to see if it's around 58lb ?

So after work today I decided to check the fuses which were all good. Then since it cranks I decided to switch the starter relay with the ignition relay and it started.........switched them back and it still started? Does it have to learn a new key and it just reset when I pulled the relay or what? Now I'm super confused but at least it starts.

Sounds like the ignition may have been sticking. Pick up a new one and replace it - if only for insurance - they aren't expensive.

Is it a stick? My buddy had the same problem and it ended up being his clutch switch.

Not the clutch switch(if M6) or neutral switch if Auto as either would stop the car from cranking. Any DTC codes?

Its an A4 and no dtcs. Hoping its just the ignition switch cuz I don't wanna have to buy more keys for a new ignition cylinder.

If your battery cables are in good condition, it MAYBE the starter bendix.

Have someone continually hit the starter (not kill it) with a hammer, as you are trying to start the vehicle, if it then starts, you have a bad bendix, and need a new starter.

But op said it cranks and cranks and no start.

I'm thinking low fuel pressure, he hasn't said what the actual pressure is yet.

If it cranks and cranks and cranks and won't fire you are either missing fuel or spark.SO you need to verify you have both of those-don't get sidetracked.

Well the previous poster has Hammond, Ind for where he is from. I assume this is Hammond, Indiana. If so, yes. Lived there until I went to highschool then moved. I still live close to that area though.

So noone else thinks its an ignition switch problem, eh? I really dont want it to be a fuel pump frickin 800 bucks to replace it at the stealership. I havent posted up the fuel pressure cuz I dont have a fuel pressure gauge and my spark tester won't ground hook up right to the wires. But it starts again and I can't get it to act up again luckily not my DD but still very odd
