Train Horn Install
I am planning on buying a train horn system from www.hornblasters.com for my 99 SS.
First off, has anyone else done an install with one of these big systems before? If so can you post pics or post a link that has pics of it installed.
second, where do you think a good place to mount the compressor and tank at? I was thinking of a 3 or 4 gal tank.
third, how would I be able to use the right horn button on my steering wheel for the regular horn and the left button for the train horn?

I did this on one of my pickups years ago. But it must have been a cheaper system. Mine didn't use an air compressor that I remember, just used a vacuum line off the engine.
I do remember scaring the hell out of people with it though

I'd only do this for the left-laners.

I want one of these real bad for my truck but I can't justify the cost and I'm getting a new truck soon. Most likely will get one on the new truck though since I'll be keeping it a long time. I know someone that works for a railroad and he can get me the horns.....I just have to supply the compressor, lines, and electrical side.

i put 2 large 3 trumpets on my ram they are alot of fun,if i can figure how to post photos i will.as to puttin em in one of our f bodys you can run a small tank but you will only have a few seconds of blast.is it a t-top car,if so you could use the bay in the trunk or mount the compressor in the hatch area.also isnt the horn blaster setup like $ 800 bucks.you can go alot cheaper for the same results.as to mounting location for the the horns ???

I have a family friend who makes steam whistles-that is the best way to make people drop a load.

If you look at the whole website they have the K5LA real cast train horns that are louder than a train because they run them at a higher pressure. I heard a set of these in person and nearly shit myself they were so loud. The same guy that had them also had a police siren on his truck. You wanna talk about clearing out some traffic.
Ashes to ashes and dust to dust, if it wasn't for fords our tools would rust

My dad had a dixie horn on his '71 Chevy SWB. It was quite funny seeing some of the reactions on peoples faces when he would hit the horn.
