Top Speed on my Z28
Whats Up All you ls guys, got something to ask just wondering, I got a 2002 z28,bone stock ls1, t-top , Slp Long tube headers, Y-pipe, flowmaster 80 series, Rebult A4 from Level 10 with conveter(level ten tells me at my hp level it will stall from 2200-2800 and when I get my 427 it will shall from 2800-3200, fyi I had 3 tci trannys everytime it went out with an 3000 stall coverter it went out and they gave me every bs in the book from the coverter to the rear end untill the ran out of bs to tell me, then got my level ten, they custom built it for me and my mods ,shifts hard its goes bang when it shifts like if you had a 6-speed and dumping the cluch hella fast) moser 12bolt 3.73 33spline axels and a tru track posi, slp air lid,85mm maf and I got 275,40 17 ps2 pliots tires all around(might get wider back rim like a 295 35 18) Full tune from newtech, 335rwhp,345rwtq, so this is what I ask, What you guys think is my top speed? true 3.73 lose top end, but now the car has almost 100 more hp and tq than stock and wider sticker tires? wish there a place I can take it to find out lol, any ways looking foward to hear what you guys think and sorry for any mispells lol, I before you guys ask I DID NOT BLOW THEM TCI TRANNY RACING JUST DAILY DRIVING!!!!!

Just based on a simple gear speed calc program widely available on the web, at 5500 RPM with a .70 overdrive, 3.73 rear and 275/40-17's, you're theoretically at 160ish. Between converter slippage (you probably won't stay locked up with full throttle in top gear unless the converter was built for it), aerodynamics, weight, and your power level you won't get there.

Forget Theory Any one know for sure I mean I sure One of yous guys of same kinds of mods? I mean my car is at 3343lbs And I am a 200lbs driver, and I have 345 rwtq I wish theres a place to find out safely both for me and from the cops, and been lowered about an inch so if you guys want to play the theory game i should able go past 160mph????, Remember guys that the f-body a4 are stuffed with 2.73or3.23 and yes a4 got 3.23s if you got an ss or the "performace rear pakage" and they still hit 160 with 287 rwtq!!! And guys check this out my hp and tq peak at around 5500rpm with and bone stock ls1 means I can redline to 6200rpms so brag about that next time you see your buddys in a new 5.0 with ]417hp@6500rpm and 390lbstq@4250 with an 7000rpm rev limter ,5.0 should have been stuck in da 80s man and the 4.6L man and why did Gm get bail out agian when these dumb focks are making engines like these my god why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should pull to that.
I personally would never do it...but the SS/WS.6 limiter stock is 157.
I have over 500 to the wheels and mine has never gone over what it tops out at in 4th.....124MPH (at least on the 26" tires). Never been much for the top speed....I like getting there in a hurry.

124?? sound like your superchared first off what kind of gears and tranny your running? and as far as the 26" tire goes I hope for love of god where talk about with ..dude that a wide tire 10 to 1 you proably did a bhc mod to fit such an rim and also you got to figure that even with 500rwhp you going to lose a lot of top end but gain crazy acel, with a rim that wide, Good for drag racing , and I know I have an A4 but I dont plan on draging very much, I want to built the car for road racing, and autocrossing and yes laugh it up I want to do it in an A4 laugh it up , whould love to have m6 but have really bad leg and knee issuses. Plus a tune can incease your rev limter for top speed, can a f-body go past 160mph?????? come on people take to me ??????????????

If your converter will stay locked at WOT in overdrive (.70 4th gear), you might get there with enough track. Since you're in California, check out Southern California Timing Association.

I don't think you are going to see 160+ with 3.73's.. My A4 car with Full Bolt-on's did 166 MPH with stock 2.73's

yo thanks man its kinda cool but I dont know if right ,says I can do 175 mph with a 6000 grand rev limt, and 3.73 with my tires I want to belive that but sound to good to be true I do have 345rwtq dam it I going on the freeway to find out I be back just kidding I wish there was somewhere in the bay area that I can go to like a airbase or something like that!!!

IT took me a long time to get where my car is today, not much on there but I not a rich man, I play poker for my parts so if I dont win it I dont get it. What I want to do now is finsh up my supension, have slp/billstien,eiboh, shocks and springs whitch where made for road racing, and know need to say it guys i know, qa1 are better but i not the type of guy to adjust things I just mess them up, slp did a really great job and the valveing, "thight like a tiger", slp subframes. Next the list is full bumber to bumber bmr, you name it I want it and getting it, a rollcage(bye bye back seat) for t-top, god forbid it flilped over those glass pieces aint going to save my life, wider back tire I have c5z06s all way around 275-40-17 , I thinking to get the 18-10.5" rim so I get a 295 back there I whould like to put a 305 but BFG and Michelin dont make a 305 in that size sorry all you tocko yocko tires I sure all those jap tires are great tires sorry I sticking(no pun intended) with my Michelins, sure you can get cheaper tires but if you cheat on tires you cheat your car. All of this to get ready for my ls7 with ported heads and a cam you can beat big foot to death with!! my goal is to make around 700hp NA on pump gas and pass that dam sniffer can it be done, tune in next time same bat time same bat channel!!!
