Throwing MAF code and don't know why...

Hey guys, so I need some help with an issue I can't quite figure out. I had to replace the wiring harness to my bank 1 O2 Sensor about two weeks ago cause it got snagged on some ice after it had snowed here. Well anyways, after the SES light came on, i scanned it and it was giving me the code for the O2 sensor and the MAF sensor. Well, after I replaced the harness for the O2 sensor, I also took the MAF sensor off and cleaned it thoroughly with the can cleaner you can buy at an O'Reilly's, thinking this was the problem since it was pretty dirty.

Cleared the codes and was fine for about a day or two, till the SES light came back on. Checked it and it was the same code again, P0102 code, (low input for the MAF sensor). Thought it had just finally gone out, so I bought a new effing MAF sensor (set me back $150) and cleared the code again. Was fine for my trip back home from Austin until it threw the code again as soon as I got back into town! The wiring seems fine, all fuses are ok and it's upsetting cause it's making the car run rich as hell (black smoke out the pipes). I'm wasting so much fuel just driving around.

    Any ideas?

I know you said you checked the fuses but the "ENG SENSE" in the underhood fuse block powers up the MAF and the O2 sensors and could be blow from the previous wiring damage.
Also could be a bad ground(black wire with white tracer) for the MAF
    Otherwise check these things.
    A restricted air intake duct
    - A collapsed air intake duct
    - A misaligned air intake duct
    - A dirty air filter element
    - A deteriorating air filter element
    - Any objects blocking the air inlet screen of the MAF sensor.
    - Any debris on the sensing elements of the MAF sensor.
    - Any vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.
    - A MAF sensor that is installed backwards
    - A restricted exhaust system

hahaha the MAF installed backwards made me laugh! I didn't even know you could do that.

But yeah, I'll check the underhood fuse box again and definitely check for a bad ground. I know there's nothing restricting the air intake duct nor is the filter dirty, I had cleaned it before I left on my springbreak trip, as well as there isn't anything restricting the MAF screen nor are the elements dirty or have debris on them.

Other than that, I'll check for these things tomorrow and I'll let you know if it fixes or persists. Thanks for the help.

Hehe I copied that from the service manual.
Also an overoiled K&N filter can deposit oil on the MAF sensor wires and screw up the readings

Just a thought from something TEP posted a while back -- I think she bent a pin in the MAF connector and ended up throwing codes when it did not make contact. May want to take a peek at that as well.
