Do you by any chance know who ports the stock throttle body to 78mm?

Thanks much but I had seen this one. There is no reference to it being bored to 78mm. Thus, I have to assume that it is stock bore size but smoothed out and polished.

In the mean time I came across a place that claims to bore stock TBs to 78mm on eBay. Check this out.

Yah, I bought a high performance 454 BB from him
years ago. It blew up three times and I had to trailer
it from Maryland to Indiana twice and shipped it once.
    I finally dumped it.

BTW, John passed away several years back.

If you are asking about Lingenfelter's place, if I remember
correctly, it was in a small town west of Indianapolis, IN.

Had a place there that had wonderful breakfasts. Got to
chat with all of the farmers and super food.

Boy, they just keep popping up. I sent an eMail to this one asking whether they have the later long throttle arm or the earlier shorter arm. I like the shorter arm best. I will post what I find out.

BTW, in case anyone wants to switch from one to the other, they
have different cables required for each of them.

You are correct John Lingenfelters does a great job for 95.00 with a 2-3 day turn around. I was very happy with the product. You can look at the web site. I wish we had someone decent in Lansing who could work on LS1's. Gotta go to D to get it at W2W or Livernois

The 98/99 arm is shorter than the later ones. I found this out when I purchased a ported 2002 TB on eBay
and found that the throttle would not close to idle. The
fix was to buy the later cable which was about $33 at
the dealer. I prefer the shorter, earlier arm as my
car is stick and it just seems much more responsive.
I dono how the two arms would work with an automatic.

Ok, now on the 80mm unit that you had come up with
I had eMailed them and got a response. Their units
come with both arms and can be changed back and
forth, of course one must have the correct cable for
    each.

The best prices that I could find are $208.65 for the
    polished TB, part number 69724:
    http://www.thehorsepowershop.com/pro...uctid=10006465
and the unpolished version, part number 69725 goes for $185.47: http://www.thehorsepowershop.com/pro...4&cat=0&page=1
Both are free shipping and tax free.

I could not find any better price, especially considering the free shipping.

I have a eMail back to the company to find out if the spacer plate gasket is a flat paper type or a permanent gasket like is on the manifold. If it is flat, I will buy some extras.

Oh, to your other question. No cables do not come with the unit. You would have to buy one if you wanted to change arms to the alternate length.

Ok, I placed my order for the polished 80mm TB and found that the free shipping is for orders that exceed $200. So one might be better to buy the polished unit as it gets free shipping but the unpolished one is under $200 so it would not. The free shipping would help offset the additional cost of the polished unit.
