    Throttle body cleaner

    what to use to clean throttle body and will you tell the difference when clean?

    CRC...you can buy it at ChinaMart/Napa/Advance Auto...lots of places....depends on if it is dirty and causing false reads...

    will there be a change in performance if just dirty, it's not throwing codes i just thought to clean it.

    Valvoline Carb & Throttle Body cleaner. You can buy it at our local auto parts store. It works very well and dissolves carbon like nothing, if the TB is dirty you will definitely notice a difference.

    You may also want to consider cleaning your MAF while you're in there, especially if you run a cotton-gauze (K&N oil type) air filter. They tend to foul out MAF sensors when the excess oil gets pulled into the intake. CRC makes a product called Mass Air Flow Cleaner, which is specifically designed for that purpose, and won't damage the sensitive hot wire in the MAF.

    I use CRC throttle body cleaner. I also use CRC MAF cleaner for the MAF. Both work great and you will notice a difference if its really dirty. Its worth doing.

    mine was pretty dirty. I could feel a SOTP difference when cleaned........I used the MAF cleaner on both

    Yes it is worth doing if they are dirty enough. I also use the CRC stuff.
