Thoughts on RoyalPurpal Oil On 2000 Z28

I was thinking of putting Royal purple oil in my 2000 Z28. Will this increase power? I have heared of good horse power increase with it.

I'm not gonna say it INCREASES horsepower, but I do use it. If it does increase horsepower then I doubt you'll feel it. I mean ya it could give you 1-2 more or something. For me it's mainly about engine life and reduced friction. If your going to change your oil every 2500 to 3000 then don't bother. It's too expensive to change it that often. I go about 4500 to 5000 with mine which is probably too soon also.

there was a dyno tune done on a car going from conventional to RP and gained 7 hp. however, i used the RP, then went to a regular full Synthetic, and didn't notice much diff between the two. but noticed a HUGE diff between the conventional and the Synthetic. i'd say, go with a full synthetic if you're not already. and save the few extra dollar from not buying the RP and get gas..

I always use synthetics...used to use castrol synthetic. I put in RP a few months ago and it is a lot better....has more of a "butter" feel.
