If you want to run cooler in the summer (see you're in MN) get a manual fan switch if you don't have something to reprogram the fans.

What about the fact that the engine is designed to run hot...if you change the operating temperature, you are messing with your fuel trims and therefore losing HP's. I guess a tune could fix that, but just a thermostat alone might hurt you.

I have the 160 degree thermo with the fans set to come on at that temperature... not sure about too much of a performance inscrease. I imagine it will extend the life of the engine some when driving in traffic and hot temperatures.

    Cool

It's probably not a necessity. My stock 98Z idles in 110 degree heat all the time and never gets hot. Yours has some slight mods so it might make a small difference.

Install 160 degree thermostat and reprogram the off and on fan settings. It will run cooler in the summer and will still be warm enough for the winter.
