I haven't seen any short sticks for the ripper but I personally think the factory Hurst shifter is hard to beat with an aftermarket stick on it like a Lou's short stick. All the shifters are pretty much just a pivot mechanism with a ball on one end and a stick bolted to the other. The only real flaw to the Hurst is the stick with the rubber grommet.

Ripper's all one piece shaft right? I believe you have to cut it.

Wonder if Lou's short stick would work on the Ripper. I'd love to shorten mine a inch or so.

My Ripper does have bolts. On Lou's short stick site.... It mentions Hurst, Pro 5.0 etc... but, not a B & M Ripper. I think the bolt distance / size might be different.

Therefore, I'm thinking on buying the Pro 5.0/LSS Package from Afterthoughts Auto and see how that goes. Just didn't want to spend an extra $150 if I didn't need to. Doh !!!

Is there anyone out there that can fab up a hardened short shifter with a bend in it for us B&M guys?

Which would you get Hurst with LSS or Pro5.0 with LSS guys. Please qualify.... thx !!!

Well I owned a Ripper for several days before selling for a Pro 5.0 a few years ago and it definaetly didn't have bolts. One piece shaft from the top of the stick down to the ball that sits in the tranny. Like this:

Guess they're makin em different now.

I could have sworn my Ripper was like the Hurst I pulled out with a bolted on arm. Plus I believe it had stops just like the Hurst as well. Geeze ... now, I'm not sure. I guess I'll have to check it out now. So, I'll check the center to center and bolt hole size .... If someone could check theirs to tell me the center to center and bolt hole size on the LSS I'd be grateful.

Well Dayum. Do any of you have the B&M? I was about to go onto LM this morning and buy it as a B'day present to myself, but if your trading them in for the pro 5.0's I might have to reconsider. Which do you think is the better way to go? Is the Pro 5.0 good stuff?

    Thanks,

If you don't mind me asking, what was your problem with the pro 5.0? It sucks to have to spend 180 bucks on something and not even have an idea of the feel.

I just didn't like it, don't like the bent towards driver stick on Ripper or Pro 5.0 either.

K, thanks guys. I saw the B&M was bent, but from the pics the 5.0 looked like a straight stick

That pic I posted above is 5.0 with the lou's short stick and it is in neutral so that might give more of an idea of the bend in that one.
