TERRIBLE Gas mpg
So I'm new to this forum, but have been reading up on material for weeks. I had a 98 TA A4, averaged about 19 mpg around town, 28 on the highway! Upgraded to a 02 WS6 M6, gas mpg about 15!!!! I don't drive like a bat out of hell all the time, so I can't figure out what my problem is. Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't I be getting the same if not better mileage as an A4??

Your mpg may be thrown off without your knowing due to a different gear ratio. I also have an m6 and can get anywhere from 10 to 29 mpg. All depends on what rpms you shift at.

car seems to run fine though? Any soot in the exhaust tips? There will probably be some soot but does it look excessive? Any mods on the car?

could be running very rich causing you to use a lot of gas...might want to get your emmision equiptment checked out, PCV, EGR, Air and ect... or lack of airflow will cause a rich air/flow mixture resulting in bad gas mileage.
