are you looking for the thermostat or the temp. sensor?

did you check all your fuses in dash and under the hood?

the engine coolant temp sensor is located on the drivers side head and will have two wires on a 2000 car

its located right above the 2nd bolt for the driver side exhasut manifold, also before replacing it take a paper clip and jump the wires if the fans turn on then you can just replace that switch, if not you need to start with either fues and or relays until you then decide that BOTH motors went out which is really unlikely, try flipping your a/c on, the fans should then turn on as well

One fan should come on at a certain engine temperature or when you turn on your AC.
The second fan comes on when the engine reaches a higher temp & will cycle on & off as the engine heats & cools.
