    temp gauge

    temp gauge is going up and down normal when cold then all of a sudden my check gauges turns on. then i see the needle of the temp gauge goes all the way to the red zone for a little bit. then it goes back to 210.....

    It sounds like it could be a sticking thermostat. Or a bad sending unit. Sounds more like the thermostat to me though.
    Lt's,SFC,3,600 Fuddle stall,Spohn Adj. tunnel mount torque arm, BMR LCA,Ls6 intake,Air lid,Under drive pulley,S60 rear,Frost tune and a few more things I cant remember.

    If it is in your '02, the temp gauage is really more of a temp estimator. Mine reads 205 degrees all the time, irrespective of what the actual engine temp is on my scanner. Best bet is to hook up a scanner to check your temps and if they are in fact wavering you should immediately service your cooling system.

    I had the same issue and replaced the sending unit. Fixed it right up. Good luck.
