    TC-W3 oil question PLEASE HELP!!!

hello, I was reading on this oil in the gas tank as to put 1oz in every 5 gallons. My question is I have a 2002 trans am and supposedly when the low fuel light comes on I have 2 gallons left. so say I put 10 bucks in my tank which will get me almost 3 gallons will I just put 1oz even though its probably not exactly 5 gallons? thanks and god bless

Hi Ry. Welcome to the site.

Just as an FYI - try not to let the fuel tank get that low ever. The fuel in the tank is what keeps the fuel pump cool. Having that low of a level of fuel will ruin a fuel pump prematurely.

I've only heard of putting oil in with the gas on 2 cycle motors.

    What exactly is the purpose?

    thanks
and I dont let it run that low usually but im needing to know exactly how many gallons I have left in the tank.
For the question on for why 2 cycle, sarge has written a huge write up over on using 1 oz of 2 cycle tcw3 oil in with 5 gallons, it basically acts as a fuel cleaner/coating to help fight against ethanol in gas.

Now that you mention Sarge, I remember this vaguely now.

To be safe, I would fill the tank completely up - you know how big the tank is based on your owner's manual. Then, add enough of the product to compensate appropriately. Example, if the tank is 15 gallons and you are full, you'll need 3 oz of the oil to add.

Not sure really on how many gallons are left in the tank when on E...that's why I am suggesting the other route.

^^^^^^ YES. Never let your tank go even below a quarter. Both my fbodies had fuel pump issues and they cost a lot of money.
