T-Tops rattle.
Need help with my tops rattle. Had front glass put in my car and every since the tops have rattled when I hit a bump. Never had tops out just because of this reason. Can anyone help. I do have the shades in the top of the car but they look to be in right.

I believe the latch is adjustable for a tighter lock/fit.

Guy-if you've never had the tops out on your car-you are missing out!!Lighten up,live a little,it's really cool to drive w/the tops out!Look, the seals are replaceable,GM already thought of that.I would unlatch, wiggle around a little and relatch, maybe even(gasp)take them out and and slide them back into place. If they didn't rattle before then they are probably alittle out of position. The window guy must of removed them.

Your rattle may be caused by "body flex", I have 3 point bolt on sub frame connectors, and have not experienced any T top rattle.

Bang on them with your hand - shouldn't rattle. If they do remove the two screws on the plastic trim at the rear, make sure the pins engage/bracket is tight.

If you reread what the guy originally wrote-he didn't have a rattle before the windshield replacement. Is the body all of a sudden flexing? (no)

The windshield is (also) a structural member, and until the urethane fully cures, it's not providing all the integrity it could.
You may need to have the t-top pins adjusted, but geez, take 'em off and ride around because it is hella-cooLast edited by TommySS; 02-14-2006 at 04:09 PM.
