My wifes car does the same thing over some of the more bumpy roads.
I honestly haven't had them off to check but if it's anything like my wifes 71 454 vette, there are little adjustments under the arms that squeeze the top down. I've had to adjust them on the vette before.
I hate to mess with her 4th gen though, although they rattle a bit it's the first T-top car we've had that doesn't leak
I know as soon as I start adjusting the damn things will start leaking

The gaskets maybe shrinking due to being dried out, try some silicone dressing on them.

did they load the suspension before welding in the sfc's? I've heard of people not doing that and then having trouble with the doors closing. The suspension should be loaded when welding those in.

can you weld them in with jack stands holding the rearend up? i really don't think it would hurt

I personally wouldn't. I prefer the car to be on level ground when doing chassis work.
What might work better is having the car on a set of drive on ramps. It's best to have the suspension resting on the tires.

[QUOTE=Dr.Crash;1815409]Well I only had it up on blocks to get them under there. I didn't tighten them up untill it was back down on the ground. /QUOTE]
Thats the way to do it. I'm just not sure if I could get in there far enough to do that
