Switching to synthetic oil? Should I?
I have been running the Valvoline High mileage oil for the past 10K miles, at 128K now on the clock.
Does it make sense to go to Synthetic or just keep running the high mileage Valvoline oil?
I was thinking Mobil 1.
I am reading through the oil sticky and trying to make heads or tails of it.

GM sent the LS1 out of the factory using Mobil 1 so you should be using synthetic anyway. I started using valvoline high mileage full synthetic a year ago and have liked it. Found it at walmart at a decent price.

Longer engine life, less oil changes..makes perfect sense to me.

So there is no danger of seals leaking, leaks starting or anything like that?

Seals leaking from synthetic oils use these days is not as bad now a days.
If you want to go to synthetic you can.
When taking a car off dino oil to synthetic it will take a few oil changes to flush the dino oil out.

The issue with seals leaking was from many years ago -- not a problem with today's synthetic formulations. I currently run Penzoil Platinum in both of our LS-family engines. As the vehicles were both pre-owned, I have no idea what was used in them before me.

I've been using mobile 1 since I got my car, with no issues (knock on wood), so I would recommend to switch.

Also a fan of Pennzoil Platinum.

Why not try a synthetic blend, save some money and get the benefit of both worlds.
