studdering and almost stalls
howdy
so here is the deal...when my car (a4) is put into gear...the RPMs occasionally dip below 500 and the car sputters and almost dies. or when its just idling in park it will just briefly stumble a little bit as described above. This happens maybe 2-4 times a week...and when it shows these signs in idle when i put it in gear (usually reverse) it will do it too..but just that 1 instant...then its smooth sailing
so what do you think guys ? its sporadic and has me scratching my head
now that i think of it ...this might belong in the trans section possibly sorry mods

That can be tuned in the idle section, where it say in park / in gear / with or with out AC ect... Might just need bumped up some, and you might want to crack open the TB plate a little. The idle control might be maxing out.
I guess I assumed you have HP Tuners ?

My car does the same thing, shop said part of it was the stall, Im still running stock, but plan on moving to a 3400 or 3600 soon. When mine does it it will actually kill the car in reverse.

If you need a VCM flash, it will be free. Just thought I would let you know.

what mods do you have shady? I forget. Sounds more like an air issue to me. Anything been done to the car lately in the throttle body/air intake area?

i am going to double check around my mani and TB ..but nothing has changed...i might clean my maf too
something else weird i have been noticing lately..is that my revs "hang" when i give it a blip..it will sit at that rpm for about 1 1/2 seconds so if i blip it up to 1.5ish ...it will jump to 1.5k then sit there for almost 2 seconds then slowly drop back to 600ish
i dont really notice a performance issue ..but its just something i would like to know the cause from ya know.

could also be a spark plug... one car i looked at back in 99 had custom headers and had melted a plug wire...

melted plug wires are common. Broken wires are also common. The type that you can't see where the carbon core is actually split.

Mine did the same and it was a wire. but also when I floored it it misfired in the upper rpms

jordon we need to make sure that you still do NOT have a vacuum leak still> since we never had issues before we got that LS6 intake mani on there. and fuel pressure would be a good check too (x2) .
