    Strange Problem

Recently, my car stopped responding to to the remote entry...sometimes. When it fails to respond the radio displays LOC and the ignition doesn't turn the engine over, it makes no noise at all. Repeated attempts will start the car, but while driving sometimes the gauges go crazy. The idiot lights all come on, the needles peg and the car runs poorly. Shutting the car off and restarting often corrects the problem and things work fine. When the remote entry works and the car starts, I can drive it but when I shut it off the needles all peg (in fact the fuel gauge jumps the barrier on the right) and the power locks won't work. The radio displays LOC. After repeated turns of the ignition key it will start. I am totally lost. Any ideas?

Any corrosion on the battery cables? Poor connections? Bad grounds? If none of these apply, my guess is that your Body Control Module (BCM) is having issues. It's a black box up under the dash somewhere and it is known to have issues. Fortunately, it is a semi-easy fix that simply requires its removal and resoldering a few of the connections.

BCM is located up under the passenger side under dash kick panel..

Between the blower motor and the glove box bucket..

I suspect it's a combo of both BCM and VATS.. imho

I agree with BCM, too many things going on for it to be anything other than a control module.

Is it the stock keyless or and aftermarket?

The battery connections are are clean and free of corrosion. The grounds (if I found them all) look okay. Definitely will give the BCM a look see. Appreciate the feedback.
