Strange knocking noise by middle of tranny engine

Just got my 02 ss camaro 2 months ago and has strange knocking noise by middle of tranny n motor. Runs great and shifts great.. It rattles when car is mostly warming up and sometimes when driving or at a stop light.. What can this irritating noise be? Would greatly appr. any advice ... Car is Auto with 74k miles

any mods on the car and can you describe the noise a little better? Is it a knock or rattle and does it sound like somethings hitting the floorboard? Just need a better description to narrow it down.

Welcome! Sounds like the noise my cat made on it way out. But your mileage is slightly lower than mine was when the cat died.. But I just guessing..

Could still be a cat thats come loose on the inside. More than likely its the exaust rattling. If it was just at warm up I would say piston slap. Need a mystery noise video!

Mine sounded like the motor was comming apart. I had a hard time pin-pointing it for a while. I posted a thread on it cause it started out as a head scratcher. @ the time it just did'nt sound like the noise was comming from the cat, and it took it a couple of tries to code. Once I got the SES had it read and bingo..
