starts......sometimes. HELP!!

I have a 2001 trans am LS1 45,xxx miles. There has been no recent work done to it and for some reason it wont start all of the time. It cranks but no fire, I checked the fuel pressure and it is good, the fuel filter is fairly new. When it does start it runs fine. plugs are releatively new 1.5 years. Very odd anyone have similiar experience.

I see where you wrote you have good fuel pressure but....
When you turn the key you can hear the pump prime up? its only for a second or two.
if you don't hear the pump prime up, try swapping out a relay. Also try giving us abbit mor einformation

it does prime up and hold pressure, i have tried swapping out relays

What about switching out your Ignition Relay?

if the car runs fine when it does start i would guess its some sort of electrical problem. its a real longshot, but check your grounds/battery, sometimes of the 2 plastic brackets that hold our batteries down snap, and hte battery jiggles around a little. if one of hte connections loosens up then you could have a car that can run fine, then not start, or sometimes stall.

have you checked the wires on your started for corrosion??? try disconecting them and wire brushing them... same with your battery...

the car always cranks, just wont fire off sometimes, if it was the ground wouldnt it fail to crank at all? i am guessing i am not getting spark. I am getting gas, or at least have good fuel pressure i checked that yesterday, i bought a spark tester today and am going to check next time it fails to start. I have tried switching the ignition relay and fuel pump relays out. Would a failing relay cause intermitent problems because it seems like when i mess with the relays it then starts. As of yesterday after i switched out the ignition relay it started
