    Starting problem

I have a 2000 t/a Ws6. Drove it to wal-mart last night came back out and it wouldn't start. when you go to start it it just clicks. When i turned the key to the ON position it sounded like something electric was touching something. it pop started fine but i cant do that everytime. is it a bad ground or starter. anyone else ever had the same problem?

    I'd check the battery/connections first.

    Re

I checked the battery conections all that is fine. i switched the starter and ignition fuses and that didnt help either. the car has good battery power and all the electronics work. I was gonna take it over to the autoparts store and have them test everything but i cant get to the starter to get it off

Do the simple thing first, bring the battery in and have them load test it - should be free. Sometimes you can have voltage, but not enough AMPs to turn the car over.

Just clicking sounds when you try to start it? Is it turning over? Cleaned terminals? What's the volt gauge reading?

Do you have a manual tranny? If you do your "clutch start switch" might be bad. If it is, it wont let you start your car and you will hear clicking sounds instead. The switch is mountded on a bracket at the top of the clutch pedal below and to the left of the clutch anticipate switch (which deactivates the cruise control when you press the clutch in.) To test the switch you have to check for voltage to the switch and if that checks good then you have to make sure there is no voltage on the other side of the switch unless the clutch is pressed. If there is a short or an open in the circuit on either side of the switch repair them and test it again. If the circuit is ok then replace the switch. I got this info straight from my Haynes manual almost word for word chapter 8-1 section 8.
Let me know what you come up with.
    Good luck!

Its The Same Thing I Told Somebody Else. The Wires That Connect To The Battery Can Be Corroted At The End And Limit The Power Connection, For Me It Was The Ground Wire. Cut Off The End Of The Wire Connector And Put On A New Connector And You Should Be Good. I Had A Mechanic Do It For Me And He Just Charged Me $10.00.
