starting issue.
When I try to start my t/a the first time I turn the key it makes that err err err sound and dont start, but always starts the second time I try. It always fires up from a cold start with no problem. It only does this after I drive It and try to restart it a half hour or so later...it weird if its 10-15 mins it starts right up, seems to act up only after its been sittng 30mins or so...any ideas?? its been doin this about 2yrs..fuel pump?fuel filter maybe? my vats needs to be fixed but I dont think the 2 probs are related although I could be wrong, thanks! - Jason

Seems like if you're having the issue only after hot starts then the fuel pump wouldn't be the problem. Having said that, you should check your fuel pressure with the key on and at idle. I forget what the pressure should be. Also, if you haven't changed the fuel filter in awhile I'd go ahead and do it. One less thing to worry about.
I wonder if plugs being gapped incorrectly could cause the issue? For that matter when was the last time the plugs and wires were changed?Last edited by FinZ28; 10-22-2012 at 02:49 PM.

Next time you attempt to hot start it, turn the ignitition to the "run" position and count to 5, then turn the key and see if it starts right away.

Agree with Jeff. If you do decide to check the fuel pressure, you should see around 58 psi at the rail.
