Stacked bearing, what are my options$$?LQ9 or LS1?
I recently stacked a bearing in the bottom end of my 98 trans am ws6, while racing a mustang.. i would like to get some feedback as far as what would be the cheapest way out?? im wanting at least 500+ horsepower off motor im considering a LQ9 with a Texas speed stroker kit i would like to have a 408ci. but i know that i would have to have a LQ9 bored 0.30 over, im just not for sure how much all the machine work will cost? I'm either gonna go that route or im gonna put a stroker kit in my existing LS1 to a 383ci. depending on how much damage is done in the bottom end! could some of you guys please give me some advice as to which engine would be the best for the overall performance and reaching my goal of 500+ horsepower without a bottle?

LQ9+L92 heads+decent cam+FAST intake= everything you want and more
I dont think the 383 is the way to go. I say 6.0 or the 408 if you wanna spend the money. theres no reason that you cant make 500 hp with the 6.0l and nice heads IMO. but im not shunning the 408 though. it would be amazingly fun
