    squeaky door

    my passenger side door abruptly started squeaking lately. should i hit it with some wd-40, or is there a type of grease i should use?

    I usually squirt motor oil from an oil can on the hinges. Sometimes I use a spray lube like WD-40

    GM makes a grease specifically for this if I recall correctly.

    White lithium grease in a spray can usually works but is kinda messy if you don't clean the overspray

    wd-40 only stops it for a few weeks... i used 5th wheel grease from my trucks on mine and haven't had a problem since...

    You are correct but I just use use lithium because it is so much cheaper.....

    wd40 has worked for the past 2 1/2 years for me. but i dont get much rain either. hell i dont get much weather period. a place that gets hit by actual weather conditions will definitely need more than just wd40. hell even if it just rained occasionally there is no telling what crap the water will push to the hinges.
