squeaks
So my car has been squeaking for a while now and I cant pinpoint which pulley its coming from. It sounds like its coming from the water pump. Is this something that goes out on our cars. The car has 48000 on it. could it be something else in that area?

Your best bet is to remove both belts and spin the pully's by hand and see which one is giving you trouble, the most common pully that fails on our cars is either the tensioner or idler.

you can also make a redneck stethoscope out of a long handled screwdriver or a piece of broom handle. Just put the tip of the screwdriver near a pulley and put your ear on the handle. Don't get caught in the belts. You will know when you're close to the pulley that's giving you trouble.
