speedo and odometer out after stereo install

    Hey Guys,
I'm pretty sure I shorted something out when I installed my stereo. Can't figure out what that something is but my speedo and odometer are not working.

    Please help....

    Scott

there is a dark green wire with a white tracer that runs from the PCM to the Radio on some vehicles with Speed-Compensated Volume. Check that wire

    Will do...

would there be a fuse on the wire...I remember not reconnecting it because there was no where to do with it. Thoughts?

    Thanks much

Nope no fuse. The vehicle speed signal goes from the PCM to the Radio, IPC, and cruise control.

Did you install an aftermarket stereo? If so, then it probably doesn't hook up to anything. Just make sure its not shorted to ground, power, or some other wiring.

Sorry been away and laptop crapped out. Yes I did install an aftermarket radio and I think while I was installing it that it did get shorted, after that the CC and speedo stopped working. I can't seem to figure out how to fix it?

Can't find any fuses that are out or apply to the combined issue. I know it shorted when I switched the radio...what did it short though?

Check for any exposed wiring. May have came in contact with exposed metal or other wiring.

All better...the darkgreen/white wire was connected. So I disconnected it and we are all better.
