    2000 Camaro SS

    Spark Plugs

    How does one go about changing the spark plugs on a 2000 Camaro SS, LS1.

    your kidding right, pull the boot off, get right size socket and ratchet, start changing, one at a time, now for the hard ones, get from underneath, and slp sells a cut down socket ,just for the hard to get plug, dont forget to set right gap, check gap on each plug, and i would put ngk plugs in tr55

    i took the coil pack off on the passenger side to change the plugs...

    Lol cursing is required when doing this task, so is frustration. I have a TA i dont know if its much of a difference on a maro but i doubt it. I just did mine this week. On the driver side the first and last one can be a pain, and on the passanger side i also removed the coil pack, it made it so much easier. Dont forget to put some anti-sieze on them and dont over tighten them. They might get stuck.

    why in the hell would you take valve cover off to change plugs? thats a waste of time, unless you want to see inside, i just dont get it, but im a old timer
