Thumbs up Sometimes you get lucky!

Checking things out carefully before I go to the parts store.
I know I have a coolant drip from somewhere, presumed it was the waterpump seeping out of the weephole.

Jacked it up to check from underneath & saw a drip on one of the outlet housing mounting ears.
Nowhere else was there any evidence of a leak, so I took a chance & replaced the outlet housing o-ring.

    O-ring was 0.99 cents, coolant cost 11.50
    Total time spent 2 hours.

    Total cost of repair $13.30

    No more leak.....Life is good!

Thanks go to Joshiedoom & sunsetorangess for your waterpump recommendations.

Guess it goes to show that you gotta be thorough in a diagnoses before spending money uneccessarily. Sometimes it's the small things.

Yeah- gotta love the easy/cheap fixes. I had a 87 Iroc and once a month the coolant would get a little low but I couldn't find a leak. No water on the ground and nothing when I looked under the hood.

I checked it one day at a gas station and finally saw the tiniest pin hole in the underside of the hose. A pully had rubbed the hose and caused it. That was a $12 fix.

Anyways- glad you got it fixed.

Good to hear about a cheap fix. My luck would never allow that to happen to me.
