should this hose have clamps on each end?
98 camaro z28 automatic ls1
just got a "vacuum leak" fixed. car is running fine, but the SES light is throwing the P0420 code. and i am thinking its due to this hose. i am by no means a mechanic but shouldnt this hose be clamped at each end? this may explain the P0420 code, the cat is fine. car has 72k miles on it, runs like a champ!
i am heading to autozone to by clamps, but just wanted to run this by you guys here. this hose should have clamps correct? there are no clamps on either end of it. one end goes to tb and other end goes into head cover, what IS this hose?

P0420 is the drivers side cat inefficiency code - you can go to gearchatter.com and look up the description/diagnostics for your year.

Well it's an emissions code for sure, probably not a problem for your trip unless it's rattling/coming apart inside or clogged. Give it some cold starts and see if it returns, the gearchatter site should tell you how many cycles it'll take to set the MIL again.

i had been using mid grade gas. filled the car with premium a while ago, drove it down I-95 to around st augustine and back and then around the westside for a while, turned it off and restarted quite a few times during the ride, the light hasn't came back on (yet), going to watch it the next few days though!
will start it again tonight once it cools down, drive and see if anything changes.
