    SFC issue??

I just ordered some UMI 2pt. sfc's a few days ago.. expecting to get them welded in once they arrive.. but i just thought of something that might be a problem..

when i change out the stock rear end to the moser 9" in a couple months will they get in the way?

I didn't go to a 9" but I swapped to a 12 bolt. I can't see any way they would get in the way. They just tie the front subframe to the rear subframe. They get welded in the rear to where the front of your LCA's bolt up.

ok i didn't think they would, but i guess it was just one of those last minute thoughts.. don't wanna weld something in and realize in a month or two i need to knock it out or something... but thanks for clearing that up

is there anything else that would get in the way when swapping a rear end?

i want to do it after i do some intake and exhaust work. around the same time i mess with the shocks and some other suspension stuff..

I'm not really sure on the 9" rears what you have to do. I went with a 12 bolt and it was a direct bolt in.
When you have the sfc's welded in make sure they have the suspension loaded when they weld them up.

Depends on what style lift you are talking about.

What Orion means is the suspension has to be loaded,,,,meaning the car has to be sitting on all 4 wheels before welding them in.

On the 9" the only thing that is not a direct bolt up affair is the parking brake line brackets, and sway bar. I had to enlongate the holes a do a little bit of bending, nothing major. You will have to pick up 3" muffler clamps to reattach the sway bar as the stock ones wont fit the housing. You need a conversion u joint as the yoke is bigger on the 9, (have to heat the stock one to get it out of the driveshaft btw to remove the plastic retaining clip). You will reuse your exhisting brake parts (direct bolt over), and you need the bearings pressed on the axles. It will also sit a tad bit higher so if you want to keep the same rake a 1/2 cut on the spring might be in order. Seems like alot but it is really not. A friend an I did it in about 3 hours and that is including the drive to the parts store and getting the bearings pressed in. Air tools FTW. I'd rather swap a rear twice before doing headers again once.
