    rough idle

alright this is the deal...lately the idle has been rough, it fluctuates between 400 and 1000rpm and it comes very close to stalling...i go to start my car the other day and it was a very slow start up...intrigued me....as i was heading to school i tried rolling the windows up and neither of them budged
weird huh? radio wouldnt wrk either until about 5 minutes of driving...
so the same thing happens this morning...only wen i get out of school, the car is absolutely dead. i bought an optima red battery today and it took care of the radio problem but windows dont move and idle is still a lil rough though not as much, alternator functions properly and dash shows no sign of trouble...fuses wrk as well. I have not the slightest clue as to why the windows will not roll up and other than the idle, this is the next main concern...anyone have any ideas?

Your throttle postioning sensor could be bad. Sound's like that car is not well cared for

car is well taken care of, dont you think that sounds a little insulting?
anyway, i replaced the battery and that took care of the issue with the rough idle and the windows, both go up now...but my car had died the next morning...im almost certain now that it has to do with the aftermarket speakers i installed though it sounds highly improbable, weird thing is that when i hit power, they all pop..i will get back soon

ok so even with the new battery, car underwent issues of dead battery...i brought it to Murrays and a few nice guys took the time to test the battery. The battery was not functioning at its highest output due to the alternator, not the "throttle postioning sensor"..cars in the shop now so hopefully that will solve all the problems...the only reason the car had a rough idle when starting the car initially is becuase the alternator wasnt putting out enough juice for the low end rpm..

I'm thinking either alternator or battery drain after the car is off. A rough idle on start up might just be it trying to "relearn" because of low voltage. Hopefully the shop will find it - if it's the alternator I recommend a new GM unit, my friend went through a couple "reman" units before springing for the new GM unit.
