Rotors
I wanted to put new rotors on the car. What would be better drilled or slotted or both and what kind. What kind of pads should i use. I want the car to be able to stop a lil quicker and smoother so i figure this would be the best way. I found a few kits on ebay can you guys tell me what you think.

Everything I have read says that drilled and slotted are just for looks. And sometimes will cause your rotor to warp. When I need new breaks I am going with only slotted. I don't drive my car very hard and I do take it to shows.

Bottom Line: Whether you purchase slotted/drilled rotors, it will STILL be an upgrade over your stock system. There's no question slotted/drilled rotors will be cooler which will increase your brake life & increase your stopping power with new pads. Good luck.

My suggestion: ATE Rotors with Hawk HPS pads. Good compromise between improved looks and performance, low noise and brake dust, and performance budget friendly.

I use the Baer "Eradaspeed" drilled and slotted rotors with "Hawk HPS" pads, I have had this setup for over 9 years with no problems. I also added Russell SS brake hoses.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have heard mixed reviews on both drilled or slotted rotors. Drilled rotors have a tendancy to crack and slotted have a tendancy to warp(I have slotted in the front...they were warped when I bought the car). My advice is...
do your homework and find out the best quality rotors. May be expensive, but you don't want to buy rotors to have them crack or warp on you repeatedly and be out of your hard-earned money.
I believe Tire Rack has an info section from customers of various brake packages the company sells.

Either drilled or slotted help keep the rotors cooler and increase the "clean swipe" factor for keeping the pads cleaner. Most people however get them because they look cool. Drilled have a tendency to crack depending on the quality and how aggressively the brakes are used. Good pads, clean fluid, and stainless brake lines will help with stopping power. For a daily driver you won't really notice the difference that drilled or slotted make (until you step back and look at your car).

I couldn't stand it any more and I was looking at a set of drilled and slotted on Ebay from some guy in Ca. They were $150 shipped for all 4 and I figuered , what the hell they were cheap enough even if i wasted the money. I bought them and put them on in Sept. They are Great I still can't believe it.
As far as drilled and slotted, it keeps the rotor cooler and they have less of a chance of warping. Our stock rotors were crap from the factory! Chevy denied the problem from day1.

Rotors aren't the problem it's the calipers that get hot and spread apart, and cheap pads that aren't made for the temp. Drilled and slotted is good for those ceramic folks and unless you road race blanks are fine, in any case you would need to upgrade to a new brake setup/ get some air ducts on those rotors/calipers.

As far as rotor i can't give you any input on them since I still have my stock one but I will also need new rotrors soon.
As for brake pads I use Hawk Performance HPS pads and they are great.
