RevMax torque converter?

Anyone ever heard of or used RevMax torque converters? They are advertising on EBAY. Are they any good?

I have looked into them in GREAT detail. They are very popular in the diesel world. They have a good rep. I have called them on the phone a few times and they know there stuff. They have not been in the lsx community long enough to know how good there converters are for us. But with there current track record in other applications I don't see it being too bad.

You have to ask yourself a few questions:
Yank, TCI, Hughes etc... had to start somewhere.
Are you willing to "try" them out on your car?
Some are some are not. I have not made up my mind yet.

Revmax has come up several times on this site. There is a reason why some converters are expensive and some are cheap.

I bought one. $324.00 to my door. I have the cheep one. They have a good rep. In Diesel converters, they are very popular. They have billet converters for all applications.

Im gonna pull the trigger on this one and get a 3300 from rev max with the anti ballon plate and carbon clutch. THink ill be alright with not getting the billet front cover if it doesnt come with one. for about 400, its not a bad deal for a converter. Ive been looking into reviews and like some peole said, they are very popular with diesl applications. And seeing how diesls tend to have alot more torque in their everyday vehicles, a little 300 hp ls1 shouldnt strees it out too much lol

I just priced one out and compared it to Yank. For my Silverado 5.3L.
About $40 difference between an known and an unknown.
Aint worth it in my humble opinion.

If a company is gonna try and break into the marketplace they need to drop drawers to even get anybody to try them. They only unbuckled their belt.

I ended up buying one with the anti ballon plates and carbon fiber clutch. I went with a 3200. It works great for me. Its extremely streetable. You cant even tell it has a stall when you are not full throttle and it locks up fine when you are just cruising along. When you do go full throttle from a dead stop or kickdown it stalls out just like its supposed to. I'm not a track rat so I dont put it to the test all of the time so I cant say if it would last under those conditions but I would say for your average street racer this is not a bad set up.

I have had one for nearly a year now and it has been perfect. Picked up almost .7 on the 1/4 and like tg580 said, under low throttle you can not tell it is in the car, but when you nail it, hold on!!

When I called them I found that they had two different stages available, one for the budget racer and then a billet version.

yeah i saw the difference on their website. I think im just gonna do the tc without the billet cover. im not doing anything over 600hp anytime soon so the budget racer one is just fine for me lol

i got one too.3200 9.5 inch with 3200 stall.carbn fiber clutch upgrade.i know in my car it works great wit my cam.fitment was perfect.BUT i personaly have not driven a yank,viglante,art carr,or any other big name convertors.so i dont know how to compare it.all i know is im happy with it and it doesnt give me ay problems.now..at $350 its steal.look at it like this...if you buy one with the billett convertor you are paying around 650to $700.you cant purchase a vigilante without a billet cover.so their price is $700.if you ad billett to revmax its around $700.so if you could take away billett from vigilante,i believe they would be the same in price.so i think tey are the same orvery similar.just one is offered wit or without billett.there is your price difference

DirtyDog is the man when it comes to converters. Regardless of what brand we are talking about this is good advise before making any purchase IMHO.
