    reverse glow gauges?

    ok so im wanting to put white faced revers glow gauges in my car. i know 6lE sells them but i dont have $250 to put on gauges at this point. i have been researching for the last 2 days and im getting conflicting stories on my alternative. can i buy just a white gauge overlay and replace the bulbs in the cluster with blue LEDs? or is the red dye or film on the back of the stock gauges going to shine red no matter what bulb i put in? read on here somewhere that i would have to buy a camaro gauge cluster and then put the white face gauge overlay and replace the bulbs with LEDs.. surely someone knows something on this matter.. im more confused now than when i started researching this

    I used to be able to remember if the bulbs in the factory cluster were actually red. I think the bulbs are actually clear but have a red rubber "boot" over them like some of the Auto Meter gauges. Have you pulled the cluster yet to look at the bulbs? Another option is checking eBay as I have seen reverse-glow gauges for the GTO, but I am sure there are clusters for the F-bodies.

    Possibly. I can't remember how the cluster is set up on the F-Bodies.

    It's ok. I found a gauge cluster out of a 98 camaro z28 on eBay on auction and got it for $35. Have the reverse glow overlay for that. But I will see what I can find that gets that red film off the TA gauges and let everyone know for future references

    OK. Let us know whatever you do, and if you do find out about the tint on the gauges, do a writeup. Never hurts to experiment.
