replace radiator 1999 formula
I need to replace the radiator on my 1999 Formula. Any install advice would be helpful. The Haynes manual says the air conditioning system and condenser must be removed with the radiator. But another post on this site did not mention that. Anyone know what must be done? Thanks for your help, I have never replaced a radiator before and hate going into a project without some info.

replacing the radiator is easy, once you start taking it out you will realize how simple it is so dont worry about it. as for the condenser it will come off with the radiator because they are attached. well good luck.

Don't take the condenser out. You can do it without cracking the line on the a/c so you don't have to recharge it. Go to ls1howto.com and look under the "f-body heads/cam swap". There's a section telling you how to remove the radiator. Not a hard job but those tabs the condenser sits in can be a pain to get loose. The condenser basically sits in tabs on the radiator just like the fans do. Not hard to get out, just takes some patience. Getting them back in is worse than getting them apart but it's not a big deal, just takes a little time and patience. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.

right on, thanks for the help guys. Always like to learn to do it myself than just taking to a shop. If there are any other "tips" that anyone can offer, please let me know. Thanks again!!

remove the lower radiator hose with the radiator. it'll be way easier to remove it from the radiator after it is out of the car.
