Removing Torque Management
I have a 99 Trans Am with a 383 stroker motor. I just put in a 3800 Vigilante Torque Converter. I have Hypertech PPIII, can I remove torque management with this programmer? I havent read anything in the manual about torque management.

Don't think HPP3 will do it.

Get a dyno tune...especially with the 383. If you insist on a handheld the predator will remove TM along with egr, A.I.R. ,rear o2's and you can also download custom tunes from diablosport with it.

If the HPP does anything with torque management through their generic power programming selection. It definitely isn't something you are told about or can manipulate in value. It would be interesting to see what Hypertech's tech support has to say about this issue. I think I'll send them a message asking.

If I might add this; the HPP is not for you. All the pre-set programming assumes a near stock engine. The exception being minor modifications like a catback exhaust and free flowing intake. You have significant differences from a stock engine; something I can only admire.

I may be wrong on this but I think when you change the transmission shift pressure with the HPP III, it also reduces the torque management. At least thats what it seemed like with my 98 TA. Now that it is back to stock, it seems like it falls off a lot on the 1-2 gear shift.

I got a reply from Hypertech support. The word from them is that the HPP does nothing at all with TM.
We do nothing with torque management with any of our tuning products. Thanks
Jim
