releiving fuel preasure w/out a schrader valve

I don't have a schrader valve since I've connected a perament fuel preasure guage.

this will be my first fuel fliter change w/ FP guage. I'm assumming I'm reduced to only removing fuel cap to relieve FP, then slitely loosen the connecting nut, any suggestions to prevent a facefull of fuel.

    Thanks

When I do mine I just wrap a shop towel around the filter with the wrench in place and just crack it open the pressure is absorbed by the rag. Just don’t have your face right under it and wear some safety glasses.

    +1 Easiest way.

Yank the fuel pump fuse and crank the car. It will start for a second and then stall out and die. Easier than getting a face full of gas.

+1 on this method, with the engine cold, and your pressure gauge @ 0 psi, you will only get a residual (sp) few drops of gasoline out of the line, when you break the filter.

+1 on pulling the fuse and safety glasses. Always use the new plastic clips that come with the filter.
