relay for 2000 chevy cavalier defogger

Hello, does anyone know why the defogger light switch comes on but the defogger doesn't work? Someone said the relay is probably bad, where is the relay located?

Should be in your fuse box.

already tried that, nothing for the defogger but a 30amp fuse - and it appears to be alright. I also checked the fuse box under the hood, again nothing there for the defogger.

From what iv been reading there isnt a relay, you said you checked the fuse and its good right? Are you getting power too the connector on the rear window?

The fuse is good, I'm picking up a new meter this weekend - I lost the manual that came with the old one and I don't know how to use it - I think it's a Sperry SP5A or something.
Thanks for checking on the relay, I called the dealer, they said they think the relay is built into the switch, but that doesn't sound right to me. I have a Chiltons manual, but it isn't much help. I'll let you know how the test comes out this weekend.

I've got very little power going to the rear window, it barely moves the needle when it's set at 10 volts (I think it's 10 volts - I lost the manual).
