If I'm not mistaken stock rev limiter is set at 6200.

umm.. i set my rev limiter to 6800 and floated a valve and backfired my nitrous. rev limiter is set at 6200 for a reason. I had mine at 6400 forever and it held up pretty well but the stock valve train wont hold much over that. If you got some double coiled springs and new retainers and chrome moly pushrods it would rev much higher...

The valve springs are the weak link... Upgrade them, and you will rev higher, safer !!! Mine is up to 7800 !!! ( HP Tuner )

The cam I'm running is rated 2200 - 7200 rpm. I go through the finish line at 7200 in 3'rd 1/4 mile. Love screaming that LS1 !!!

I've bounced off the rev limiter while spraying at 7800 already... That hurts the feelings a little...( while figuring out the shift programming )

You're spinning 7800 rpms on the stock bottom end, rod bolts and all?!?!?!? If so, what the hell are you smoking and....puff...puff...give!

so what exactly are your mods then... seems to be pretty extreme. also what kinda times are you running that you need to pull your 3rd gear out to 7800 rpms?

I have my limit set at 7800, but I ussally go through the traps at 7200... I was have shift programing issues, causing over revs and still hitting the limiter... Bummer when your spraying...Lucky for me that the limiter kills fuel, not spark...
The top end is ported & flowed very well, wein intake, 80mm BBK, comp cams, 1.8 rockers, holley 32lb injecters, 4600 locker stall, moser 12bollt w/ spool, every rear suspension mod plus the anti roll bar. It pulls 1.36 60foots 10.79 @ 124 mph
