    Rear loose

My car makes a clunking sound in the right rear when turning left. I pushed inward on the tire and it feels loose and clunks. Could it be wheel bearings? Axle? I plan on getting the rear rebuilt anyways just wanna know if I can get away with driving on it. No grinding sounds or any other weird noises just clunking

Try tightening the panhard rod bolts.

They're all tight. I pulled the e brake and the noise went away mostly. Think it was the rotors hitting the brake pads BUT it is still there just more faint. Thinking it could be c clip noise

you saying that if you push in (toward the car) you have play in the wheel? how much? If you do I will have that check out. If you have a bad bearing the wheel will have play up and down left or right but not pushing in.

I also suspect something related with the c clip or the spacer that keeps axles from pushing in. Have you had the rear end service or done any work on it? i will pull the rear end cover just to make sure and push the wheel in to see inside.

I don't think it's play, I think the rotor was clanking the pads making it seem like something is loose. I pull the e brake tight and everything feels real tight, just when I start shaking the car more violently the clank comes back faintly. But like I said whenever I take left turns the rear clunks even when I have brakes applied, so I'm wondering if it's inside the diff. My pinion seal is on it's way out I know that much. And my rear whines like a sob when doing over 50.

its possibble but remember that when pull the ebrake the ebrake shoes tight down the brake disk. that will make it tight.

1800 is the average used price... you'll need to find out if you have 3 or 4 chanel and what the rear has...

Others will chime in soon. You could PM moderator Cutlass with your VIN to find out.

If you have traction control, it's four channel. If you only have rear abs, it's three channel. You would need to contact the seller to determine what the Moser has.

I'm taking my car in a local trans shop Friday to get it inspected. The owner insists the 10 bolt will hold up with a good rebuild. His 650 hp race car has a stock 10 bolt (rules say rear has to stay stock) from a ls1 maro. He even fired it up for me and did a few burn outs (with slicks of course). I'm thinking I'll rebuild just to get me by. I don't trash my car so it should last a little while I hope
