Rear Defrost Help
After removing the old purple 3-ply window tint from my rear window I noticed a small thin layer of the rear defrost element stuff came off. It takes at least two long cycles to get a defrost now.
No visible breaks in the element lines, that I can tell.
Does any one know if a window and glass shop can repair this or am i in for a new rear window?
I want to repair it before having the window tinted again.
thanks

As far as I know you are in for a new window man, the elment stuff is the element and removeing it reducesd the amount of heat generated.

Yeah the same thing happened to my window when the tint was removed and it looks like I'll be buying a new rear window....I think my wife priced one for $190 installed so I guess that's not too bad.
Vote for Pedro.

darn, i was afraid of that. I just couldn't see how any one could have the steady hand to get those lines straight and perfect.

They do make a repair kit. Check the auto store usually near the adhesives. I have never heard of anyone trying it so I have no idea if it works.
